Saint Casimir was a young prince of Poland and Lithuania who chose holiness over power, pleasure, and ambition. Even while surrounded by wealth and influence, Casimir lived a life of prayer, purity, and compassion for the poor.
Despite pressure to seek political authority and marriage, he remained devoted to Christ, practicing self-discipline and deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Known for his love of justice and his concern for the suffering, he used his position to defend the weak rather than to elevate himself.
