Saint Apollonia was a Christian martyr of the 3rd century from Alexandria, Egypt. During a violent persecution under the Roman Empire, she was arrested for her faith in Jesus Christ and suffered greatly rather than deny Him. With unwavering courage, she chose to remain faithful to Christ until her death.
Saint Apollonia is remembered for her steadfast faith, courage in suffering, and total trust in God. Because of the nature of her martyrdom, she became known as the patron saint of dentists and those suffering from toothaches.
Her life reminds us that true strength comes from fidelity to Christ, even in moments of fear or pain.
Prayer
Saint Apollonia,
faithful martyr of Christ,
intercede for us in times of suffering and fear.
Help us to remain strong in our faith
and to trust in God’s grace in every trial.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
