Vatican announces Pope Leo’s liturgical schedule for January and February

The Holy See Press Office this week announced the schedule of liturgies Pope Leo XIV will celebrate in January and February, including Masses, Vespers, and other liturgical events.

The Pope will preside over Second Vespers Jan. 25 for the Solemnity of the Conversion of Saint Paul. The liturgy will take place at the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside-the-Walls.

On Feb. 2, the feast of the Presentation of the Lord, Pope Leo will say Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica.

Since he was elected to the pontificate after Easter last year, 2026 marks the first Lent in Pope Leo’s pontificate.

On Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18, Pope Leo will lead Stations of the Cross and a penitential procession at the Church of Saint Anselm, and Mass at the Basilica of Saint Sabina.

Pope Leo will also preside over the first and last day of the spiritual exercises of the Holy Father and the Roman Curia, which takes place Feb. 22-27.
