About St. Godfrey of Amiens
St. Godfrey of Amiens was born in 1066 in Soissons, France. From his youth, he was known for his deep piety and love for prayer. He entered the monastery at Mont-Saint-Quentin, where he embraced a life of humility, discipline, and service.
Later, he was appointed Abbot of Nogent and became known for his efforts to reform the clergy and restore holiness to the Church. In 1104, despite his reluctance, he was made Bishop of Amiens, where he served with great zeal and compassion.
St. Godfrey was a man of strong virtue who stood firmly for moral reform and cared deeply for the poor and the sick. His holiness, courage, and integrity made him a true shepherd of souls. He died in 1115, and his memory continues to inspire all who seek to live faithfully in the midst of trials.
