Saint of the Day: Saints Crispin and Crispinian

Feast Day: October 25

Patronage:
Shoemakers, leather workers, and weavers.

Biography:
Saints Crispin and Crispinian were brothers and Roman noblemen who lived in the 3rd century. Filled with zeal for Christ, they traveled to Soissons, France, to preach the Gospel. To support themselves and set a good example of honest work, they became shoemakers. As they repaired shoes by day, they shared the Good News of salvation with all who came to their shop.

During the persecution of Emperor Diocletian, the brothers were arrested for their faith. Despite threats and torture, they courageously refused to deny Christ. They were martyred around the year 286, joyfully offering their lives for the Savior they loved. Their witness inspired countless Christians to remain steadfast in faith.

Prayer:
O God, You gave Saints Crispin and Crispinian courage to confess the name of Jesus and to suffer for His sake. Through their prayers, strengthen our faith and help us to live boldly for You. Amen.
