Catholic marketing agency gifts free website redesign to group bringing sacraments to elderly

An Ohio-based Catholic marketing agency recently hosted a free website giveaway in honor of the newly canonized St. Carlo Acutis, awarding the website to an organization that brings the sacraments to senior citizens in nursing homes.

Briefcase Marketing told CatholicVote via email that the organization, Sacraments for Seniors, brings Reconciliation, the Eucharist, and Anointing of the Sick to long-term care facilities.

Briefcase owner Dan Fuerst said that many people in nursing homes do not have visitors and don’t have access to the sacraments before they die.

“Sacraments for Seniors is changing that, and we want to help them share that mission clearly and beautifully online,” Fuerst said.

St. Carlo Acutis, famous for his love of technology, among other things, notably created a website that catalogued Eucharistic miracles from around the world. As CatholicVote previously reported, St. Carlo saw technology as a means for evangelization.

Sacraments for Seniors’ existing website will be redesigned to become “a Catholic resource hub for families, clergy, and caregivers,” according to Briefcase. The new website will feature information on Catholic living wills and books on dying well, as well as guidance for knowing when and how to choose hospice care. Other resources include directions for when to call a priest, information on understanding apostolic blessings, and a directory of nursing homes with regular access to the Sacraments.

Finally, the website will also feature information on advocating for loved ones in nursing homes, including the rights of nursing home residents and the role of a state ombudsman.

Fuerst compared the Sacraments for Seniors ministry to Mother Teresa’s commitment to helping people die well.

“She understood the importance of those final moments, and so do the good people behind Sacraments for Seniors,” Fuerst said.

Briefcase said in an email that it has previously aided several other Catholic and pro-life organizations by communicating their missions through websites.
