Apostle of Divine Mercy
Patronage: Mercy, Divine Mercy devotion, and Poland.
St. Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun, was chosen by Jesus to spread the devotion to His Divine Mercy. She kept a detailed Diary, recording the messages and visions she received from Christ, emphasizing God’s infinite mercy and the call for trust, repentance, and love.
Through her revelations, the Divine Mercy devotion was born, including the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, celebrated on the Feast of Divine Mercy. St. Faustina’s life was marked by humility, prayer, and obedience, even while facing misunderstandings and challenges.
She was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2000 and is widely venerated for her dedication to promoting God’s mercy to the world.
Prayer
St. Faustina, help us trust in God’s mercy and to share His love with all. Guide our hearts to forgiveness, faith, and compassion. Amen.
