Saint of the Day: St. Thérèse of Lisieux (1873–1897)

Patronage: Missions, missionaries, France, florists, and those seeking to trust in God’s mercy.

St. Thérèse, also known as “The Little Flower,” was a French Carmelite nun who lived a hidden, simple life of love and humility. She is best known for her “little way” — the path of holiness through small acts of love and sacrifice offered to God with great trust. Though she died at only 24, her writings, especially The Story of a Soul, have inspired millions. Declared a Doctor of the Church, she reminds us that sanctity can be found in everyday life.

Prayer

St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, teach us to love God in the little things of daily life and to trust Him completely. Pray for us that we may walk the “little way” of holiness with joy and confidence. Amen.
