Saint of the Day: Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels

Saint of the Day – September 29

On September 29, the Church celebrates the feast of the three Archangels mentioned in Scripture: Saint Michael, the defender against evil; Saint Gabriel, the messenger of God’s greatest news; and Saint Raphael, the healer and guide.

  • St. Michael is honored as the leader of the heavenly armies who protects God’s people from the powers of darkness (Revelation 12:7–9).
  • St. Gabriel is remembered for announcing to Mary that she would be the Mother of the Savior (Luke 1:26–38).
  • St. Raphael is known from the Book of Tobit, where he guided young Tobias and brought healing to his family.

These Archangels remind us of God’s constant care and presence in our lives, sending His messengers to defend, guide, and heal us.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, through the intercession of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, protect us from evil, strengthen us in faith, and guide us on the path of holiness. Amen.
