“To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds… In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.” (Daniel 1:17, 20)
Meditation – Receiving God’s Abundant Favor
On Day 3, we see the beautiful outcome of Daniel’s faithful resolve. After refusing the king’s food and trusting God with simple provisions, the Lord poured out extraordinary gifts: superior knowledge, understanding, and insight. Not only did Daniel and his companions thrive physically—they excelled far beyond others, influencing an entire empire for God’s glory.
This reminds us that fasting isn’t about deprivation; it’s about positioning ourselves to receive God’s favor. When we humble ourselves, seek Him first, and obey in small things, He equips us with wisdom for life’s challenges, discernment in decisions, and strength to shine as lights in a dark world. Trust that God is already at work—your faithfulness opens the door to His greater blessings!
Prayer Focus: Heavenly Father, like Daniel, I seek Your wisdom and favor today. Grant me understanding in Your Word, clarity in my circumstances, and grace to honor You in all things. Fill me with Your Spirit as I continue this fast. Amen.
