Saint of the Day: Saints Simon and Jude – Apostles

Feast Day: October 28

Biography:
Saint Simon, known as the Zealot, and Saint Jude, also called Thaddaeus, were among the twelve Apostles chosen by Jesus. Simon is believed to have once belonged to a group of religious zealots dedicated to the Law of Moses, while Jude is remembered for his deep faith and for his short but powerful New Testament letter, urging Christians to remain steadfast in the truth.

After Pentecost, both traveled widely to preach the Gospel — tradition holds they evangelized in Persia and were martyred together for their faith. Saint Jude is especially honored today as the patron of hopeless and desperate cases, inspiring countless devotions of trust and perseverance.

Reflection:
Through their courage and unity, Saints Simon and Jude remind us that God’s power works even in our trials and that faithfulness to Christ bears eternal fruit.

Prayer:
O glorious Apostles, Saint Simon and Saint Jude, intercede for us that we may remain faithful to Christ in all circumstances and spread His light to others. Amen.
