Biography:
Saint John Paul II was born Karol Józef Wojtyła in Wadowice, Poland, in 1920. Ordained a priest in 1946, he became Archbishop of Kraków and was later elected Pope in 1978, taking the name John Paul II. His papacy was one of the longest in history, marked by a deep love for the Eucharist, the Virgin Mary, and the dignity of every human person. He played a crucial role in the fall of communism in Eastern Europe and inspired millions through his travels, writings, and powerful witness of faith. Despite suffering greatly in his later years, he remained a joyful servant of Christ until his death in 2005. He was canonized in 2014 by Pope Francis.

Prayer:
O Saint John Paul II, intercede for us that we may open our hearts to Christ, trust in His mercy, and proclaim His love to the world. Amen.
