The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will convene in Baltimore, Maryland, this November for their 2025 Plenary Assembly, during which they will elect a new president, vice president, and chairmen for six of their committees.
The current USCCB president is Archbishop Timothy Broglio, archbishop of the Archdiocese of Military Services. The current USCCB vice president is Archbishop William Lori of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Both have served in these positions since their elections at the 2022 Plenary Assembly.
Among other responsibilities, the USCCB president serves as chairman of the Administrative Committee, according to the USCCB website. As USCCB president, Archbishop Broglio has also issued statements in response to a number of current events in the U.S., including comments on a pro-life VA policy change, the passage of the “Big Beautiful Bill,” and the results of the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
