Patronage: Catholic education, teachers, and the state of Indiana.

Foundress of the Sisters of Providence

St. Théodore Guérin was born in France and entered religious life after enduring deep family hardships. In 1840, she was sent as a missionary to the United States, where she founded the Congregation of the Sisters of Providence in Indiana. Despite illness, poverty, and many trials, she tirelessly worked to build schools, care for the sick, and guide her community. She was canonized in 2006 by Pope Benedict XVI.

Prayer

St. Théodore Guérin, faithful servant of Christ, inspire us to persevere in trials and to serve others with courage and trust in God’s Providence. Pray for us that we may remain steadfast in faith and charity. Amen.
