Catholic Prayer for February 5, 2026

On February 5 in the Catholic liturgical calendar, the Church celebrates the Memorial of Saint Agatha, Virgin and Martyr (a Sicilian martyr from the 3rd century, known for her courage and purity in defending her faith).

The Morning Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day
for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart,
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world,
for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins,
the reunion of all Christians,
and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month.
Amen.

Prayer to Saint Agatha (from traditional Catholic sources)

Lord God,
Saint Agatha loved You with a pure and undivided heart.
She was tortured and imprisoned for her faith,
yet she remained steadfast and joyful in suffering.
Through her intercession, grant us the grace to remain faithful to You in all trials,
to preserve our purity of body and soul,
and to trust in Your merciful protection.
Saint Agatha, virgin and martyr, pray for us!
Amen.(Another traditional version:)
O good Saint Agatha, to you I address my fervent prayers; graciously accept them and let me experience in some way the effects of your powerful intercession.

Amen.
