The Church celebrates today the Conversion of Saint Paul, one of the most powerful testimonies of God’s mercy and transforming grace. Originally known as Saul, he was a fierce persecutor of Christians. While traveling to Damascus to arrest followers of Christ, he was struck by a heavenly light and heard the voice of Jesus saying, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” (Acts 9:4).
Blinded and humbled, Saul was led into the city, where he encountered Christ through the ministry of Ananias. His sight was restored, he was baptized, and his life was completely transformed. From that moment on, Paul became one of the greatest missionaries of the Church, boldly preaching the Gospel and suffering greatly for the name of Christ.
The conversion of Saint Paul reminds us that no one is beyond God’s mercy and that the Lord can transform even the hardest hearts into powerful witnesses of His love.
