Friday of the First Week in Ordinary TimeLord Jesus Christ,
You who healed the leper with a touch of compassion, saying, “I do will it. Be made clean,” extend Your merciful hand to us this day.
In this ordinary time, as we journey through the early weeks of the liturgical year, help us to hear Your call clearly amid life’s battles and distractions. Like the Israelites facing their enemies in today’s first reading (1 Samuel 4:1-11), we too encounter struggles—spiritual, emotional, or worldly—that test our trust in You. Grant us the grace to rely not on our own strength or “arks” of security, but on Your presence and power.
Through the intercession of St. Berard and his companions—the first Franciscan martyrs who fearlessly proclaimed the Gospel even unto death—give us courage to witness to You boldly in our daily lives. May their example inspire us to embrace missionary zeal, to speak truth with love, and to offer our lives fully for the salvation of souls.
Cleanse our hearts from sin, strengthen our faith, and fill us with the Holy Spirit so that, like the healed leper who could not remain silent, we may proclaim Your goodness everywhere.
We ask this through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.
St. Berard and Companions, pray for us!
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
