Inspired by last year’s National Eucharistic Congress, a group of parishes in the Archdiocese of Seattle will hold the ASCEND Eucharistic Revival on May 16, 2026.
“The Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis was a gift of God to the Church in the United States and the world,” said Father Nicholas Wichert, ASCEND’s Ecclesiastical Advisor, according to a recent press release. “The Holy Spirit’s presence brought a revival of faith in God and the Eucharist, which we pray people of the Northwest will seek to experience.”
The revival, which will be held at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Washington, will feature Catholic speakers including Chris Stefanick, Tim Gray, Andy and Sarah Swafford, and Deacon Charlie Echeverry. Catholic singer-songwriter Marie Miller will be performing during the event.
Floriani, a sacred music group, will chant at Mass during the event.
Organizers hope that the event will encourage a renewed love for the Eucharist in the Pacific Northwest that will have ripple effects across the Church.
“Through encounters, formation, and sacraments, ASCEND aims to inspire the faithful to live with Eucharistic joy and carry that presence into the world,” according to the event’s “about” page. “By lifting hearts and minds to God, the revival aspires to foster unity, love of neighbor, healing, and a renewed sense of mission in the church today.”
Fr. Wichert sees the Eucharist as key to healing people’s relationships with God and each other, and he says he hopes that attendees will grow in courage because of the event to grow in holiness and share the Gospel.
“In these distressing times, we are called more than ever to love God and our neighbor, and to remember our hope is in the Lord Jesus,” he said, according to the release. “Strengthening belief in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist reminds us God is with us. This revival will encourage Catholics to be even more open to receiving the fullness of Sacramental grace that God offers us in Holy Communion.”
