Happy Feast Day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

In the Galilee, where the roots of Christ’s public ministry began, Christians keep this vigil with processions, hymns, and veneration of the Cross, lifting it high as a sign of hope and triumph. The evening before often has a sense of anticipation, preparing hearts for the solemn feast with prayer, fasting, and reflection on Christ’s sacrifice.

The Cross is a reminder that suffering united with love brings salvation, and that every trial can become a way of union with Christ. As St. Paul said:

“But far be it from me to glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Galatians 6:14)
