Short Biography
Saint Pius X (1835–1914), born Giuseppe Sarto in Italy, served as Pope from 1903 until his death in 1914. He is remembered as a humble shepherd, deeply devoted to Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Known for his motto “To restore all things in Christ”, Pius X worked tirelessly to defend the faith, promote holiness, and reform the Church. He encouraged frequent reception of Holy Communion, especially for children, and simplified liturgical practices to help the faithful participate more fully in the Mass. His deep love for the Eucharist earned him the title of the “Pope of the Blessed Sacrament.” He was canonized in 1954.

O Holy Pope Pius X, faithful shepherd of Christ’s flock, you taught the faithful to draw closer to Jesus in the Eucharist with childlike love and confidence. Pray for us, that we too may find our strength, peace, and joy in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and live our lives in faith, humility, and devotion. Amen.
