Happy Feast of the Assumption! Today we rejoice in the glorious moment when the Blessed Virgin Mary was taken body and soul into Heaven, a sign of hope for all the faithful and a promise of our eternal destiny in Christ.

The Church of the Dormition in Jerusalem where Mary, the mother of Jesus, is believed to have “fallen asleep” before being assumed into heaven.
