Saint Catherine de Ricci (1522–1590) was an Italian Dominican nun known for her deep love of Christ and her profound meditation on His Passion. From a young age, she dedicated her life entirely to God, living with humility, obedience, and intense prayer.
Through her spiritual life, Saint Catherine was granted mystical experiences that united her more closely to the suffering of Jesus. Yet she remained practical and loving, serving as a wise leader and spiritual guide within her community. Her holiness was marked not only by mystical gifts, but by charity, patience, and fidelity to daily duties.
She reminds us that true union with Christ is lived through love, sacrifice, and service.

Prayer
Saint Catherine de Ricci,
lover of Christ crucified,
teach us to embrace our daily crosses with faith and love.
Help us grow in humility, prayer, and charity,
and to remain faithful in all that God asks of us.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
