Catholic Prayer for February 8, 2026

Opening prayer from the Mass for the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time:

Keep your family safe, O Lord, with unfailing care,
that, relying solely on the hope of heavenly grace,
they may be defended always by your protection.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

February 8 is St. Josephine Bakhita’s feast day, and it’s designated as a day of prayer against human trafficking,.

Saint Josephine Bakhita,
you who endured suffering and found freedom in Christ,
pray for all victims of human trafficking and modern slavery.
Help us to work for justice and dignity for every person.
Intercede for us, that we may trust in God’s merciful love.
Amen.
