Authorities in southern Louisiana are investigating after a local Catholic church was vandalized Nov. 29, causing several thousand dollars in damage, according to a local report from KLFY 10, a CBS affiliate.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, which occurred at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mallet, which is about an hour and a half west from Baton Rouge. Deputies were called after parishioners discovered multiple stained-glass windows had been shattered from the outside.

Once on scene, investigators also found broken PVC plumbing pipes, multiple windows shattered, a damaged electrical outlet, smashed concrete sewer lids, a broken spotlight at the church entrance, and cracked glass on a side door.

The total damage is estimated at roughly $6,500. No arrests have been made, and the sheriff’s office has not identified a suspect or determined a motive.
