Feast Day: September 27
St. Vincent de Paul (1581–1660) was a French priest known for his deep compassion and tireless dedication to the poor. After experiencing a personal conversion, he devoted his life to works of charity and reform within the Church. He founded the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians) and, together with St. Louise de Marillac, established the Daughters of Charity, a community of sisters serving the sick and needy.
St. Vincent’s life was marked by humility, simplicity, and a burning love for Christ in the poor. His legacy continues today through countless charitable organizations inspired by his example. He is the patron saint of charitable societies, including the St. Vincent de Paul Society that serves the poor worldwide.
