Cleveland Diocese announces arrival of May/June issue of its Northeast Ohio Catholic Magazine

CV NEWS FEED // The Diocese of Cleveland has announced the new issue of the Northeast Ohio Catholic Magazine will soon arrive at the doorstep of the faithful across the region.

Launched in November of 2015, Northeast Ohio Catholic is the official magazine of the Diocese, and reaches nearly 700,000 Catholics across 240,000 households per edition, free of charge.

According to a May 30 news release from the Diocese, the latest publication will cover a range of topics and relevant events in the community, including updates on local charity initiatives, latest ordinations to the priesthood and diaconate, and a preview of what to expect from the National Eucharistic Congress in July.

The eight-county Diocese of Cleveland will send a delegation of 250 members, including Bishop Edward Malesic and Auxiliary Bishop Michael Woost, to the congress in Indianapolis on July 17-21.

For his part, Bishop Malesic’s column in the latest issue focuses on “how families are the foundation of the community.”

The issue contains an in depth feature of the men ordained to the priesthood, transitional diaconate, and permanent diaconate, as well as priests, and men and women religious celebrating major anniversaries of their ordination this year. It will also announce updates regarding priestly assignment changes.

The diocesan publication also highlights community events and prayer services, such as its upcoming “ballpark Mass,” on June 24 at Canal Park in Akron, and the final round of its Nine Nights of Night Prayer.

Meanwhile, the 20 high schools in the diocese will name their top performing students from the class of 2024.

The “Last Word” featured in the magazine will be from the Director of Catholic Cemeteries Association Andrej Lah on Church teaching regarding cremation.
