CV NEWS FEED // Former President Donald Trump blamed President Joe Biden for the massive pro-Palestine protests that have erupted at New York City’s colleges and universities over the past few days.
“What’s going on at the college level, at the colleges – Columbia, NYU, and others – is a disgrace,” Trump said early Tuesday.
“It’s really on Biden,” the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee added. “[Biden] has the wrong signal. He’s got the wrong tone. He’s got the wrong words.”
“[Biden] doesn’t know who he’s backing and it’s a mess,” Trump stressed.
Trump said that if he was currently in the White House instead of Biden, and the same protests were going on, his political opponents would “be after me so much.” He indicated that the same people are now “trying to give [Biden] a pass.”
“What’s going on is a disgrace to our country,” the former president emphasized. “And it’s all Biden’s fault and everybody knows it.”
Trump went on to slam the Democratic incumbent. “[Biden has] got no message. He’s got no compassion. He doesn’t know what he’s doing.”
“He can’t even put two sentences together, frankly,” the 45th president said of his 81-year-old opponent.
“[Biden] is the worst president in the history of our country,” Trump stressed.
He went on to criticize the lack of police presence near the college protests, “You have very radical people wanting to rip the colleges down,” he pointed out.
“It all starts with Joe Biden,” Trump reiterated. “The signals he puts out are so bad. And I can tell you, he’s no friend of Israel … and he’s no friend of the Arab world either.”
“[Biden] doesn’t know what to do,” Trump pointed out. “He wants to take, like, a middle ground and oftentimes that doesn’t work.”
“It’s certainly not working here,” he said. “What [Biden has] done to Israel is abandon them.”
“[Biden is] an incompetent man,” Trump concluded. “A peace will never happen with a guy like this.”
At the protests, some of the anti-Israel demonstrators have threatened Jewish students with violence. In response, Columbia Rabbi Elie Buechler instructed them to go home “as soon as possible.”
“The events of the last few days … have made it clear that Columbia University’s Public Safety and the NYPD cannot guarantee Jewish students’ safety in the face of extreme antisemitism and anarchy,” Buechler said, as reported by FOX News Sunday.
A notable participant at the demonstrations was Barnard College student Isra Hirsi, 21, the daughter of controversial far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-MN.
FOX noted Monday that Hirsi “was among more than 100 people arrested and issued a summons for trespassing on Thursday after protests at Columbia University. Hours earlier, she said she had been suspended from Barnard College.”
Following her suspension, Hirsi claimed that she was barred from her school’s facilities, including her dorm and the dining hall.
Barnard is an elite and prestigious college in upper Manhattan, located across the street from Columbia. While it presents itself as a women’s college, it also admits men who claim to be women.
